Location

The Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court is in the Cuyahoga County Court House (also known as "the old courthouse"). The building is at the corner of Lakeside and Ontario. The court’s address is 1 W. Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

To get directions to the building:

  • View the Google Map.
  • Select directions.
  • Enter your starting point.
  • Choose your transportation type (like driving, public transportation or walking).

If you are driving or riding to the building, please note:

  • Public parking is limited at the Huntington Parking Garage (behind the Court House). If you plan to use this garage, allow for extra time and arrive early. Note: This is not the most cost-effective parking available.
  • Other parking options are located nearby. Public parking garages and surface lots are located within a few blocks of the Court House. 
  • Public transportation is available through the RTA. You can find public transit routes and information on the RTA's website.
  • RTA trolley routes are free. A free trolley service is available around downtown Cleveland. You can find trolley information on the RTA's website.

The main entrance is on Lakeside Avenue. The other public entrance is off Level 2 of the Huntington Parking Garage.

Hours

The Court's hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Departments

  • Help Center (1st Floor): The Help Center helps to complete, notarize and file court documents and answer questions about court documents and court proceedings. You are encouraged to call the Help Center at (216) 443-8880 or submit a question online before coming to court.
  • Domestic Relations Clerk of Court (Ground Floor): The Clerk of Court receives, distributes and preserves official documents of the Court. You might go to the Clerk of Court's office to file court papers or to access court records.
  • Domestic Violence Department (Ground Floor): Court personnel can help with the procedural process of seeking a Domestic Violence Ex Parte Civil Protection Order. Advocates can provide emotional support. Before coming to Court, call (216) 391-4357 (HELP).
